Dog Ears Books has been in business in northern Michigan since 1993. We sell new, used, and rare books. Selected titles are listed on this site. Many, many more are to be found in our downtown Northport bookshop. During current remodeling, we have remained on winter hours, Wednesday through Saturday, 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. We will add days and lengthen hours as spring progresses until, beginning with the Memorial Day weekend, we will be open seven days a week all summer long.

Bookstore Events:

Friday, June 14, 5-7 p.m. Mary Ann Samyn, will read at Dog Ears Books from My Life in Heaven, her fifth book of poetry, published by Oberlin College Press and winner of the 2012 FIELD prize.

Bookstore customers wishing to order new books not currently in store inventory may choose one of the following three options: You may select to receive a 10% discount from list price; you may take advantage of free Media Mail shipping within the U.S.; OR you may direct 10% of the list price to be donated to the Leelanau Children's Center through the Leelanau Foundation.
